Join Brighton Gigglers for FREE Laughter Session in the MOST MISERABLE MONTH OF THE YEAR!

January, most agree, is the gloomiest month on the calendar!  So on Monday 24^th January to put smiles on faces and connect the lovely people of Brighton & Hove Laugh Alive will be running a FREE uplifting laughter session which will beat the blues and kick start the working day.  The 30 minutes of breakfast time giggling and stress busting will take place at the number one music, arts and comedy venue, Komedia who have donated space in support of the chuckle-full cause. Laughter lovers will meet from 8a.m. for a prompt 8.10a.m. start. (Details below)

EVERYONE IS INVITED. Together, workers and local families of Brighton and Hove can laugh away the Monday morning blues, cheer-up-with-a-chuckle, loosen-up and lighten-up and…YES! still get to work and school on time! This physical, interactive and fun session is open to all ages, cultures and languages. No experience necessary. 

January 2011 is particularly lousy.  Unpaid Christmas bills, low energy levels, nasty weather and failed New Year’s resolutions combine to make it the gloomiest in the calendar. British Psychologist Dr Cliff Arnall who statistically formulated ‘Blue Monday’(possibly the most miserable day of each year), says the best way to overcome the Monday blues is to do something fun.  Now Brighton & Hove are leading the way…

And, why laughter?  Lengthy laughing and Laughter Yoga (a none- postural series of playful, interactive greetings and movements) is the best way to combat stress, build friendships, boost productivity at work and to pump up happy hormones.   Even if you don't feel like a laugh, using laughter in this way has an immediate impact on the body and mind.  Laughing sets endorphins souring through the body, blasting out anxiety and leaving no room for tension.  Laughter lowers blood pressure, strengthens the immune system and exercises every major system in the body. Just 100 laughs a day is equivalent to 10 minutes on a rowing machine.
