At the Laughter Gym, our workouts involve movement, breathing, warm-ups, and interaction with others in the room while also using non-postural Laughter Yoga. This is a specific stimulated and simulated laughter workout, which is designed to release barriers and stress, inducing spontaneous laughter, a state of relaxation, and a low-physical yet dynamic experience for the entire body system. When it comes to health and fitness, laughter is the secret ingredient. Being able to laugh at yourself and with other people is a key ingredient when it comes to living a healthy life. There has been a lot of research regarding how laughing a certain number of times per day can be the equivalent to doing exercise. For example, research indicates that if you laugh 100 times per day, this is equal to doing a ten-minute workout on a rowing machine. We know what we would rather be doing!
Laughter offers so many health benefits. It gives your back muscles, leg muscles, facial muscles, respiratory muscles, abdominal muscles, and diaphragm a good workout. Laughter also increases vascular blood flow, as well as decreasing blood pressure.
We have a number of different workshops for you to choose from
You can choose from a number of different laughter workshops at the Laughter Gym. we have a range of Laugh Alive workshops. These workshops involve a Laughter Yoga and Gym session. Depending on the length and focus of the event, the workshop may also include focussing laughter and relaxing tools to learn, laughing techniques and games, creative group play, energetic breathing, Positive Psychology exercises, and interactive discussions on health, humour, and laughter.
We also have a number of laughter gym session slots available for you to enjoy as well. These gym sessions can last either 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or one hour. They involve a progressive and playful build-up of laughter exercises that are designed to get rid of stress, ending in laughter mediation. This not only includes Laughter Yoga, but relaxation, health tips, breathing, playful-fitness, energising, and stress-busting. The Laughter Gym is a dynamic and impactive environment, which will be timed and guided to suit the needs of the group in question.
